OLD SINS REISSUED
3.12.2006
Spanish label Ronf Records have reissued on CD-R an old split tape of my old alias Herb Mullin and german noisecore clowns Flying Sandwich. I imagine this is the oldest material of me available at the moment - but that will change in 2007: coming is a CD box-set of old cassette material. Tape mania awaits.

METAL MUSIC MACHINE LIVE
12.11.2006
Added a live recording from Intal festival in Glasgow from last month to the mp3 archive.

NEW RELEASE: WHOLE LOTTA ROSY
11.11.2006
I've contributed some guitar sounds to the recent Rosy Parlane album which is called "Jessamine". Nice album, out on Touch now.

NEW RELEASE: SPAGHETTI WESTERN RAINBOW
17.10.2006
Two years ago Utech Records released "Spaghetti Western Rainbow" on CD-R in 100 copies, long since sold out. As Utech are now moving away from CD-Rs to 'real' CDs we decided to do a 'deluxe' reissue edition; the original track have been remastered and radically restructured + I have completed three new tracks, including a collaboration with Keith Fullerton Withman. In typical Utech Records fashion the cover alone is worth picking up the disc for - this comes packed an embossed paper sleeve, with a goldprinted obi-strip. Neat. Go to the Utech site to listen to sound samples.

NEW RELEASE: JAZKAMER/RONEZ SPLIT
16.10.2006
Belgiums finest freaks Audiobot have put out a split CD-R of Jazkamer and our chinese pal Ronez, titled "Planetary Sit-In", a vague tribute to Sun Ra and 70ies splace travel. Space still is the place.

NEW RELEASE: THE TAN
15.10.2006
US label Obscurica have released a solo CD-R of me called "The Tan". It's a single 35 minute piece for guitar and distortion.

US TOUR DATES
18.9.2006
The dates for the US tour are ready. First doing a duo with Aaron Dilloway + a Jazkamer set at the Earstquake festival at the Tonic in NY, then going to the west coast to do a tour with Carlos Giffoni.

T-SHIRTS BACK IN STOCK

The Metal Music Machine t-shirts size Medium and Large are now back in stock after being sold out for some months.

NU MUSIC BRAKHAGE
8.9.2006
Going to Stavanger to perform to a Brakhage film (DUES EX) tomorrow, as part of the Nu Music Festival.

NEW RELEASE: FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON
31.7.2006
Today Synesthetic Recordings is putting out "Five Dolls For An August Moon". Although we have been making a racket for a good nine years now, it's taken us this long to finally get our first full lenght studio album together. Compared to our previous lofi drone meltdowns this is a somewhat subdued and restrained adventure; more spacy and dreamy perhaps. Synesthetic has mp3 samples up, so check it out. Really pleased with both the record and the pressing (cut at D+M in Berlin). Releaseparty at Sound of Mu in Oslo tonight. And for those cinephiles out there; yep, this is something of a tribute to Mario Bava.

GOING TO CHICAGO
18.7.2006
Going to Chicago for some shows; including a gig with Terrotory Band-6 at Millenium Park, a duo with Kevin Drumm at The Hideout, a solo set at The Empty Bottle and more.

NEW EMAIL
1.7.2006
Please notice my new email address. Update yr addressbooks etc. Hope you all are having a nice summer.

NEW RELEASE: PANIC
3.6.2006
In 2003 Bottrop-Boy released the Jazzkammer album called "Pulse"; a slow drifting electronic tapestry of sounds, recorded in the late hours in the heart of the neonlit Singapore city. Now in 2006, three years later, comes the follow-up (or sister-release if you like); "Panic". Unlike its electronic twin "Panic" is a guitar-based record. Our blues record perhaps. Again graced with a series of atmospheric photos by Yuen Chee Wai.

NEW RELEASE: CHINESE OVERLOAD
3.6.2006
I'm pleased to announce my first release on a chinese label; Doufu Records have put out a CD-R of new solo studio material titled "It's Not the End of the World". It is a collection of material I've recorded the last three years that was meant for my new album on Smalltown Supersound - but ended up here instead. In addition to this album Doufu Records have also put out a 3 way split CD-R with me, Stimbox and Ronez. As with Utech Records the handmade and stamped CD-R's of Doufu Records looks better than most 'proper' CDs.

ADDED MP3 FILES TO ARCHIVE
02.6.2006
I've added some new stuff to the mp3 archive. An explosive live jam with me, Alan Courtis and Kjell Runar Jenssen from Oslo this winter, DEL's live soundtrack to the Eisenstein film "Strike" + two pieces from my violin-minimalist duo Two Limited. The archive now holds a good 20 hours of music. And more to come.

NEW RELEASE: UN AMERICAN
02.6.2006
Gameboy Japan have put out a CD-R of material from our tour of Amerika may/june of 2004, which we've titled "Proud to be Un American". This rather short disc contains edited highlights from seven of the shows, including a jetlagged meltdown at the infamous RRR shop in Lowell.

NEW RELEASE: VIVA NEGATIVA
02.6.2006
The most impressive release I've seen in a long time is the massive double 4 x LP (yes that's 8) box set "Viva Negativa: A Tribute to The New Blockaders" - where an impressive list of participants take turns reworking or paying tribute to one of the finest noise projects ever. The box sets are also a feast for the eyes- they don't come much nicer than this. Released by Vinyl on Demand.

BACK ONLINE
02.6.2006
Perhaps nobody noticed but there hasn't been any updates to this or the Jazzkamer websites in the last six weeks due to a computer crash. Now things are up and running again.

NEW RELEASE: ABSOLUTE FRANCISCO
15.5.2006
Blossoming Noise have released a double CD set of Francisco López titled "Absolute Noise Ensemble". The second disc is a long piece with various people contributing guitar sounds, a sound source we rarely hear within Senior López soundworld but I must say I'm impressed with the results. Somewhere in there you can hear fragments of my 1999 "Simple Strings/Dental" cassette.

NEW RELEASE: TESTICLE HAZARD
13.5.2006
This week sees the debut release of my duo project with Tommi Keränen; Testicle Hazard. Musically TH continues were The Nordic Miracle left off four years ago; old school wall of noise ecstasy. "Beauty of Nature" is a live recording from last year's Avanto festival and is released by one of the hardest working labels of noise and power electronics; Freak Animal Records. It's only 200 copies (still a 'real' CD) so act fast if you want a copy. Expect more Testicle action later this year, first up is a split LP with Golden Serenades of Segerhuva. Have a sneak listen to "Beauty of Nature" here.

CINEMA WEEK
8.5.2006
This week I am pariticipating in a series of screenings organized by Dans for Voksne and Cinema Neuf here in Oslo. First is a series of films I've selected, including works by and/or footage of Phill Niblock, Masonna, Kazuki Tomokawa, Åke Hodell, Emil Beaulieu and Erkki Kurenniemi. Then there is a screening of the film "I can't return, my heart is bleeding" by Unn Fahlström from 2003, with a soundtrack by me. On sunday I will be performing a live soundtrack with DEL to Sergei Eisenstein's classic "Strike". More info here.

FOXY INTERVIEW
26.4.2006
There's a new interview with me on the Foxy Digitals webzine.

NEW RELEASE: METAL MUSIC MACHINE
24.4.2006
The long awaited (for us at least) new Jazkamer studio album is here. "Metal Music Machine" was recorded with members from Enslaved and Manngard, and is something of a Jazkamer-goes-metal item; with extreme doom, grindcore glissando, 80ies thrash and Glenn Branca-like black metal soundscapes. Complete with artwork by non-other than Savage Pencil. The CD is out in Norway on Smalltown Supernoise now, and will be available abroad on 06.06.06. A limited vinyl edition will be released by Asspiss Records. It will be available through Smalltown, but also directly from me now.

NEW RELEASE: REPLIKA!
18.4.2006
After nine (!) years in the making, Segerhuva have now released the Origami Replika album "Kommerz - Merzbow in the hands of Origami Replika". This album was recorded in 1997 and was meant as part of a trilogy of sorts, with "Metamusikk" and "Fucking Pure" where we reworked other people's material. The CD was originally for a long time slated for release on the now defunct Releasing Eskimo label. That didn't happen, the band split up in 1998, and "Kommerz" sort of disappeared into the void untill the good people of Segerhuva came to the rescue, and now it's here; a blast from the past.

DESIGNER DUDE
16.4.2006
Have updated the visual page with new designwork.

SOUND AND VISION
15.4.2006
The Jazzkammer site have been updated with video, and photos from our asian tour. And on the MP3 site I've uploaded our live performance from the Flux Us instore gig on april 6th.

TOP 20
15.4.2006
The Flux Us store in Singapore asked me to do a top 20 noise records list for their blog. An impossible task, but I tried and it's now posted.

JAZZASSIN
14.4.2006
The Jazzassin Records page now includes all the cover scans.

NEW CASSETTE RELEASE: HELLBOY
10.4.2006
US label Trash Ritual have released a cassette of new material from me. Titled "Hell is Empty", a two-track C30 epic of scrap metal trashing, feedback galore and all the distortion pedals I could fit in my small studio.

BACK IN OSLO
9.4.2006
Just back from the Jazkamer tour in Asia (China, Thailand and Singapore). Thanks and hello to all the people who made it possible and such a nice time. Photos and audiofiles of shows to uploaded shortly.

BRAKHAGE STILL ALIVE
20.3.2006
Here's a danish review of mine and Andreas Melands "Brakhage" album compared to Sonic Youth's recent "Koncertas Stan Brakhage Prisiminimui" release.

ASIAN TOUR DATES
10.3.2006
The dates for the asian Jazkamer tour are ready. Looking forward to going to China, Thailand and Singapore.

NEW RELEASE: TWO MUCH
9.3.2006
New Zealand label Seedy R have put out Two Limited's "La Mano De Dios" - a CD-R containing two shows we played in Argentina last year + a studio session with Anla Courtis. If you haven't heard Two Limited, it's my violin-minimalism-duo with Tom Løberg. Think a dysfuctional drunken sloppy version of Tony Conrad and you get the picture.

BOREALIS 2006
5.3.2006
This years' Borealis festival is starting on the 10th of March. As always it's in Bergen. Artists this year includes Bernhard Lang, Pita, Gold Serenades, Philip Jeck and many more. My good friends Anla and Roberto (ex-Reynols) are artists in residency, so you'll be getting plenty of them. See the festival site right here. Check out the neat videoclip of me and Anla rocking in Buenos Aires, taken from a new film by Tom Løberg that will debut at the festival. Again I've designed the print version of the program.

PLACE IS THE SPACE
3.3.2006
Listen to me, Ken Vandermark, Mats Gustafsson, Paal Nilssen-Love, Henrik Rylander and David Stackenes play Sun Ra. It's from a Swedish radio broadcast, so there also a some other suff, including new piece by Dror Feiler performed by Alter Ego.

STOCKHOLM NEW MUSIC
20.2.2006
I will be doing two projects at the Stockholm New Music festival this coming week. One is a piece called "Epidemic", which is a collaboration with the composer Ole Lutzow-Holm. The second is Sun Ra cover band with me, Mats Gustafsson, Ken Vandermark, Paal Nilssen-Love, Henrik Rylander and David Stackenes.

NEW CD: SCANDINAVIA IS BURNING
6.2.2006
It is with absolute pleasure that I can annonce that Firework Edition, Leif Elggren's label, has put out a collaborative CD of me, Johannes Heldén and Joachim Nordwall called "When The Ice Is Leaving, Scandinavia Is Burning". The albums was made in the period 2002-2005 and in contrast to its title and cover is a rather ambient and soundscapish affair. I have copies available (also for wholesale).

NASH NOW AVAILABLE
2.2.2006
I now have copies available of the Nash Kontroll CD for sale. If still in doubt about picking it up read this nice review on Dusted.

LIVE VIDEO
26.1.2006
Here's a link to my brief appearance at the Alarm awards last saturday. It's not a direct link to the video, scroll down to my name and click a few times. Somewhat bizarre to see myself with such high production values and big crowd.

NEW CD: THE GATES ARE OPENING
20.1.2006
Last summer I had the fortune of performing as part of the swedish doom-kraut-drone-metal band The Skull Defekts at the Nordberg festival, out in the deep dark swedish woods. Now that show has been put out in a lavishly packed 500 copies limited edition CD by swedish AA Records. The title is "Open the Gates of Mimer". Think Throbbing Gristle meets C.C.C.C. meets Earth.

ENTIRE JAPANESE TOUR IN A BOX
20.1.2006
Swedish cassette label Abisko has put out a tripple cassette box containing the entire Jazkamer tour of Japan 2005. This is something of a dream come true, cassette boxes are a cool as it gets. Limited to 100 copies. Of course all the gigs are available to download from the mp3 archive, but trust me - it sounds a lot better on tape. Plus there's a whole side of tape-only bonus material (drunken backstage ranting, hotel jams and whatnot).

BLONK AND RATKJE REMIXED
19.1.2006
The latest issue of the Leonardo Music Journal comes with a compilation CD currated by Jaap Blonk. Mr. Blonk was kind enough to let me do a remix of material from his CD with Maja ("Majaap"). Available from here.

ALL EARS ALL OVER
17.1.2006
This years All Ears festival was a great success; good audience attendance and amazing performances from everyone we invited. Personal highlights remains Hijokaidan, John Tilbury and Filament. The website Groove.no has a lenghty review of the entire festival.

The norwegian net magazine asked me to name my top ten records of 2005.

NERVOUS
6.1.2006
UK label Nervous Noise has been nice enough to include a track by me on a compilation called "Nervous Noise". Their website doesn't seem to be up, but I have some copies available. The CD also includes people like Kobi, André Borgen, Gelsomina and Filthy Turd (one of the guys from Cosmonauts Hail Satan). Nothing to be nervous about then.

ALL PHOTOS
6.1.2006
Here are 99 photos from last night's All Ears releaseparty. They're all pretty blurry, but at least there's quite many of them.

ALL EARS 2006
3.1.2006
For the fifth year in a row the All Ears festival will be held here in Oslo. This year we're extremely proud to present the first concert in any nordic country of noise legends Hijokaidan. But that's not all - other artists include John Tilbury, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, Per Gisle Galåen, Sten Ove Toft and many more. See the complete program and download the catalogue at the All Ears website. And if you're in town now on thursday, me, Paal, Maja and Kjetil have a 'program release party' concert at Blå.
