It was a long time since I heard a proper Marhaug full-length album, and this didn't dissapoint at all. While listening it struck me that one of the things I like the most about him is that he seems to stand with one leg in a dirty mud pool of
cassette-culture-low-fi-cdr-release-harshness, but at the same time with the other in a long tradition of "serious"/academic composition. What makes every track
on this cdr enjoyable is that he never compromises with either side and just brings some great, fierce, noise into the grind - leaving me to see reocurring themes and nuances while trying to keep my hat on in the midst of this ryhtmic, skullbendning organism. (online review)
