Review:
I can't believe I just typed 'burning lesbos' into our search engine. Here Burning Star Core forgo the blaring cosmic droney noise of theirs, which I tend to really like, in favour of a more free improv-y kinda thing which has C. Spencer Yeh scraping away unpleasantly on his frightening fiddle (Ant says it sounds like he's trying to force-feed it to a horse).. I'm getting a little bit of a Starving Weirdos vibe from it actually, as far as the unsettling atmosphere goes. Hey, it's got Trevor Tremaine from Hair Police drumming on it too! Good shit but I'm more taken with the primal thump of DEL's side which has me thinking of everyone from Cromagnon to Heavy Winged. Lasse Marhaug plays his 'space-machine' on that one but I'm not sure what that is. Whatever it is, I like it. (Norman Records)
