Lasse Marhaug: Learning To Fly
7" single - Pica Disk, Norway - 2008 - Pica007

Limited to 100 copies. Available only from Looop.

Reviews:

‘Learning To Fly’ whittles Lasse’s harsh noise output down to the
essentials, three live sets (although the sleeve lists four?) crammed
into a 45rpm 7” with each is as virulent as the next.
Contact microphone crunch, devastating feedback and corrosive volume
are same, familiar excesses from which to construct these bellowing
obliterations, pure and persuasive in their damage. Each is a
self-contained ignition, starting fiercely and ending suddenly with no
waning or relaxing, similar to Masonna’s live sets in their
determination and battering volume dominance.
No complaints on the short length here; everything is present with
nothing missed, and the point is made quickly without need for
repeating. Like with Testicle Hazard, although obviously with a far
different manner of explanation, this is good, clean, noisy fun with
no ‘outside’ elements or implements. (Chris Groves, Night Science)
